3 things I've bought for under $100 that I really love.

Sometimes I listen the the Tim Ferriss podcast. He does a piece at or near the end of each interview where he asks the guest about a $100 or less purchase that they made that they're really liking or they think has real value.

So, inspired by that, I thought I'd do a piece here on 3 purchases I've made for under $100 that I think are an amazing value - cycling edition! Full disclosure, I've included Amazon affiliate links so if you click on the item and buy it, I'll get a little kick back from it.

Every now and then, I really do find something that I'm absolutely blown away by and I can't believe is so inexpensive. I've worn all the different cycling brands out there so I know fit, performance, and comfort. These days I can choose what I want to wear or use instead of using whatever the team sponsor throws at me, so when I choose something, it's because it's performed to my standards. Below are 3 of these items.

1. JBL Free bluetooth earbuds - about $40.

- I listen to music or podcasts while I ride my bike, mow the lawn, walk the dog, etc. And each of these occasions has different sound environments. I got a pair of these earbuds earlier this year and have been thoroughly impressed. They sound great, fit well, are water/sweat resistant, and only cost about $40. The battery life is fantastic so they'll last through a 3 hour ride. I believe sports equipment and clothing is good if you don't notice it. If you're not constantly adjusting it or picking at it, you know it's working for you. These are a great example. Easy to use controls, stay in my ears, simple, and my favorite color is blue and you can get an array of colors. I got my wife a white pair.

2. Urban Cycling short sleeve jersey and bibs - about $88.

- I started getting served ads for this kit on my social media and was curious. So, first I ordered the men's Graphite Kit. I liked this kit well enough, it was very cool looking. But, the grippers on the legs were kind of strange and the material wasn't my favorite.

I wanted to give it another chance so I got this kit. And it's worth every penny! It looks great, fits great, and the grippers on the legs are phenomenal. I've worn basically everything out there and, while this isn't a more premium brand, you get A LOT for what you pay! If you're wanting to buy kit on a budget, you can't go wrong with this.

- Fall is actually starting to feel like fall here in the desert. On the days I get up early before work to ride I'm actually needing more than just a short sleeve jersey and bibs. Usually arm warmers and knee warmers do the trick. I'm tall and somewhat skinny so finding knee warmers that are as tight as I like AND as long as I like can be a trick. I got a pair of these Castelli Nanoflex knee warmers and they are PERFECT! Warm, soft, moisture shedding, amazing fit. Castelli got everything right with this garment. They're great for those cool fall days, wet fall days, and even into the early winter temps. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I'm already looking at some matching arm warmers.

There you have it. I have a ton more products like this I like that I'd be happy to go on and on about. Maybe I'll do something monthly. And I'd love to hear what's been working for you, my readers, too. Maybe I'll do a "gravel edition", or a "winter edition."

You don't have to spend a ton of money on finding great that really works for you. I've had super nice, custom painted, boutique Italian frames that were junk, and I've had cheap, mass produced products that were amazing.
